Martha

Things were going well for Martha. Even though she was estranged from the rest of her family, she lived with her mother, and the two women got along well until Martha’s mother had to go to a nursing home. Martha couldn’t afford to pay the rent on her own, so she also had to move out. Being a veteran, Martha turned to the VA who referred her to Faith Mission. “I was scared, but the process ended up not being so frightening. The staff is here because they want to help me.” Now Martha is working with her case manager on finding permanent housing and employment. She’s even already enrolled in school studying health information management technology. “I hope to have a place to live and a job soon. This place is a godsend.”
